Equally Wedded Bliss: The Perfect LGBTQ Mountain Wedding
The Couple
August 22, 2020, was a beautiful day to forget the world’s troubles and head to the mountains for the perfect LGBTQ mountain wedding. Casey and Marissa did just that at Hidden River Events outside of Asheville, NC. The two have been together for nine years culminating in their walk down the aisle together.
The Preparations
Both ladies got ready after different locations on site of the ceremony. Marissa got ready surrounded by family and friends in the Bridal Studio. Similarly, Casey did the same except at The Field House. A golf car picked both up and got them to the ceremony site in plenty of time for the 5 pm wedding ceremony.
The Ceremony
The ladies chose The Flower Garden for their ceremony. The brides chose bright flowers native to the mountains of Western North Carolina. The ceremony featured music from a DJ on site. Together with 75 guests, the brides became a married couple.
The Reception
The brides, accompanied by the ring bearer and flower girl, were driven in a white horse-drawn carriage to the reception. Accordingly, the photographer, Erica Mueller, stayed close to capture all the magical moments of the day.
The reception started with a cocktail hour following the ceremony. Anne’s Custom Catering provided the dinner spread of herb-roasted chicken and mouth-watering sides of roasted potatoes and roasted garlic and brown butter green beans. In addition, the festive reception included the first dances and a DJ playing everyone’s favorite tunes throughout the night.
The cake was vanilla buttercream over a delicious vanilla cake. Notably, beneath the white frosting was vanilla cake in layers of rainbow colors making it the perfect PRIDE wedding cake.
The reception included tossing the bouquets and a night of animated speeches by family and friends. The guests eventually lined up with sparklers to see the new couple off at the end of the night. The Brides left the event united as wives for whatever comes next in life. They will never forget their perfect LGBTQ Mountain Wedding!
We Specialize in All-Inclusive
At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent. There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding. These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
