Making the Maximum Out Of Your Minimony

Making the Maximum Out Of Your Minimony

2020 Wedding Plans

The global pandemic and social distancing policies have wreaked havoc on 2020 wedding plans. Weddings around the world have been postponed and canceled as couples begin to compete for dates and vendors in 2021. More and more couples are choosing to keep their wedding plans for 2020 with a modification to a minimony.

What is a Minimony?

A minimony is usually about 10 people. As a result, guests are often immediate family who can attend the wedding while following social distancing policies. Many couples also opt to virtually stream their ceremony so friends and family can join from home. There are several options from DIY to a professional streaming service like I DO Stream to share the big day because of limited gatherings.

Keep It Safe

One of the more unique problems of 2020 weddings is social distancing and the ceremony. Make it clear before the wedding what social distancing is expected. Virtual officiants are growing in popularity or a friend or family member that will perform the ceremony. Get a an extrovert guest ordained online to perform the ceremony. It is key to a minimony to keep the party small and reduce everyone’s potential exposure.

The Venue

The great outdoors are replacing the ballroom for wedding venues. It’s not just for the picturesque views and natural beauty. Social distancing is safer and less obtrusive outdoors because space is not an issue, sunshine is a natural germ killer, and no worries about recirculated air. Your smaller guest list for the wedding and after-party can take place outside with less stress and travel.

A perfect Minimony!

At Hidden River Events, we have been having more and more minimonies and elopements. With our spectacular views and private outside areas, we are perfect for your small wedding! Carra and Christopher had a big summer wedding planned for June, but instead of canceling it, they persevered and created a new wedding plan; It was *perfect.* They got married in a shady spot by the river at Hidden River Events, surrounded by their family and closest friends, in a totally intimate and beautiful minimony.

We Specialize in All-Inclusive

At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent.  There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding.  These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
