Mountain Wedding Spotlight: Abby and Philip

June 21 was a special day at Hidden River Events for Abby Lackey and Philip Limauge. The couple welcomed just under 100 people to their mountain wedding and unique wedding ceremony at our River Cove site.

The Ceremony

The wedding took place at 5 pm under a beautifully handcrafted arbor. Hidden River Events owner Jeanne Somer officiated the ceremony under the watchful eyes of Philip’s dog, Grace. Grace joined the groom’s wedding party with an appropriate corsage pinned to her collar.

The bride’s father picked up Abby from the Bridal Studio in a white horse-drawn carriage before the wedding. The five groomsmen and six bridesmaids waited for the bride under an old oak tree while guests had the choice to sit or stand. Following the ceremony, Abby and Philip enjoyed a “just married” carriage ride around the grounds while guests headed to the reception tent for cocktails.

Brinner is Served

The guests walked to a romantic tent with crisp white linens and a parquet dance floor. Hidden River Event’s favorite Custom Catering by Anne provided the wedding dinner. The dinner menu featured a brinner selection of scrambled eggs, creamy grits, chicken and waffles, and other favorites.

The Reception

Following dinner, Abby and her father had the traditional daddy/daughter dance. Afterward, guests took to the dance floor for a funfilled evening of dancing, speeches, and cutting the cake. After that, the event wound down around ten with a final bride and groom dance.

The Honeymoon

We Specialize in All-Inclusive

At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent.  There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding.  These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
