Top Wedding Trends of 2020 and What to Skip
Flowers
Flowers are the most interesting of the wedding trends of 2020. Non-traditional flowers are having their moment. Dried flowers, greenery, and different uses for flowers are all popular. Dried flowers as bouquets are a unique spin on the trend. They can also be bleached or painted but left alone are beautiful as well. The absence of flowers is also a trend. Greenery and succulents as wedding flowers are very popular. What is losing popularity are flower walls and overly done flower decor.
Environment
Another trend for 2020 is being conscious of the environment. Conspicuous consumption at your special event is a big no-no this year. Recycling and conservation are the way to go as brides focus on the planet on their big day. When using fresh flowers and plants for decor, the trend is to keep the roots attached so they can be reused instead of cut flowers that die after the big day. Natural fabrics and materials are also popular for weddings. Plastic anything is not on trend for big days. Balloon releases, fireworks, and other environmentally unfriendly displays are out.
Food
A great food trend for places like Asheville is the rise of non-traditional catering. Instead of hiring a caterer or putting out a buffet, couples are hiring their favorite chef or restaurant. The wedding should be a reflection of the couple and that includes the food. A chef who creates a menu for the couple is a big trend in 2020. Couples need to look no further than their favorite restaurant for catering and food ideas. What couples are steering away from are big displays of sweets, homestyle meals, and wasteful buffets.
Smaller
One of the most obvious trends for 2020 and the year of Covid-19 is small! Small wedding parties are the rage. With most states in the beginning stages of reopening from stay home orders, nobody wants to put their guests at risk by having huge events this year. Small, outdoor affairs with plenty of room and sunshine are the trend. Instead of a large wedding party, finding other more intimate ways to honor family and friends are popular.
We Specialize in All-Inclusive
At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent. There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding. These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
