Wedding Trends To Leave In 2020
Wedding trends can be amazing one moment and over done the next. As a result, the more trends are used by couples, the faster they start being cliche. Don’t worry, here at Hidden River Events we want to keep you current with wedding trends that are hot. Here are a few wedding trends to leave in 2020.
Neon Signs
All the signs point to not using this trend that has burned itself out from overuse. All the signs point to leaving this wedding trend behind in 2020. Think instead about tons of romantic candles, hand lettered signs, bare light bulbs, and the opposite of neon.
Naked Cakes
All the bakers rejoice-they can frost masterpieces again! Leave naked cakes in 2020, in the new year people want frosting and classic wedding cakes. Still looking for something rustic? Cakes frosted to look like cypress trees are still going strong. Whatever your cake style-cover those cake layers.
Photo booths
Photo Booths are officially over. Every event from weddings to county fairs have had their fun with photo booths and they are long past their prime. Alternatives are backgrounds with floral festoons, walls with interesting patinas, naked light bulbs, and antique chairs. Think less campy and add some drama to your photo spot.
Gals Only Bouquet Tosses
It’s 2021, let the boys in on the bouquet toss. Instead of just the single ladies diving across the floor to catch the bouquet the new trend is all the singletons compete. It only makes sense, men want to be guaranteed to be the next to get married too.
Dessert Bars
Say goodbye to donut walls, dessert bars, and platters of sugary choices. Leave the dessert bars in 2020. The new trend is one decadent dessert plated for the guest. Think 10 layer cakes dusted with powdered sugar and all the trimmings. Creme Brulee with a proper caramelized sugar “crack” when you hit it with your spoon.Â
Family Style Meals
No more passing platters around the table. Family style meals are dunzo. There has been too many interruptions, leaning to pass dishes, tracking down side dishes, and sharing at the reception dinner. It’s just too homey a feeling for a proper reception these days. The new meal is a stylized plate of food with garnishes and flourishes of sauce across the plate. Think courses of amazing plates of food instead of heaping platters.Â
We Specialize in All-Inclusive
At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent. There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding. These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
